Jessica Garrett "Mrs. G." is an ASHA certified, licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) who is excited for her 2nd year at The Hornblower Early Childhood Center and in Belleville Public Schools. She earned her BA in Telecommunications from Indiana University and an MBA and MA in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Montclair State University (MSU). During her graduate studies at MSU, Jessica coauthored the research article Building Blocks of Knowledge: A Close Look at Prerequisite Coursework for Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology. She was a participant in the panel discussion on Integrating Related Services into the Early Childhood Classroom at the 2022 New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education Spring Leadership Conference.
During her time as a school-based SLP, Jessica has worked at the preschool and elementary levels. She is committed to collaborating with administrators, teachers, staff, parents and students to support student success in the classroom. Jessica believes that ALL students can use their voice to be lifelong learners when given the right support and strategies.
